  Cancer Therapy & Oncology International Journal Abstract Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), formerly known as von Recklinghausen’s disease is a nervous system tumor disorder of variable expressivity. Malignant solitary fibrous tumors (SFT) are rare spindle cell soft tissue tumors. We report a case of a 35-year-old male who presented clinically with NF1 and a mass that mimicked a nerve sheath tumor radiologically, but pathologically was, in fact, a malignant solitary fibrous tumor. Based on a literature review, the association between NF1 and malignant SFT has never been published.   Cancer Therapy & Oncology International Journal Abstract The purpose of the work was to study the effect of different single radiation doses of X-rays on the pediatrics Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) cells in vitro . In addition, to construct the survival curve for the RMS cells and determine some crucial radiobiological parameters used for calculations of tumor cell kill in radiotherapy treatment of pediatrics RMS tumors. An established in vitro cell culture model employing the RMS tumor cell lines was used for this study. Cells were exposed to single doses of 0, 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 Gy from a 6 MV X-rays photon beam energy. The clonogenic cell survival assay method was used to quantify the RMS cell survival. The survival curve was fitted by the single-hit multi-target and linear-quadratic models. Authored by Awatef Msolly Mutations in the BRCA1/BRCA2 genes account for varying proportions of breast cancer families studied, and demonstrate considerable variation in mutational spectra coincident with ethnic and geographical diversity. This work aimed to identify mutations in BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes to explore the existence of population-specific recurrent or founder mutations, in Tunisian breast cancer families. We have screened for germline mutations in seventeen Tunisian high-risk breast cancer patients using direct sequencing. Index patients, diagnosed before age 45, possessing a positive family history or bilateral breast cancer were asked for detailed information on family history of breast or any other cancer type in their families.
